Sell on PrimeHat
Short answer: You can run an online shop from any district. Source what your area does well, sell it to buyers across Bangladesh, and send most orders from your own shop or godown. For Dhaka orders, a parcel that starts in Dhaka usually costs less to deliver than one that comes in from a district, so keep a small stock of your fastest-selling products at a Dhaka location: your own, a relative's shop, a partner or a 3PL. PrimeCommerce, PrimeHat's seller dashboard, keeps your home stock and your Dhaka stock as two locations.
This guide covers what changes when a parcel goes to Dhaka, what a refused parcel costs, how to set up a Dhaka location, and how to cut refusals before you ship.
Couriers price a parcel by where it is picked up, where it goes and how much it weighs. A parcel from your district to a buyer in Dhaka is an outside-Dhaka-to-Dhaka trip, and it usually costs more than the same parcel sent within Dhaka.
A longer trip usually also means more days between the order and the doorstep, and more time for a buyer to change their mind.
Check your courier's return charge before you set your prices; couriers set it differently. Steadfast's terms, for example, say it does not charge for return parcels (Steadfast's terms, checked 22 October 2026).
Even with no return charge, a returned parcel still costs the outward delivery, the packaging and the days the item is off sale. Steadfast's same terms say the delivery charge is paid for every parcel handed over, delivered or cancelled.
A refused parcel goes back to where it was picked up. Stock sent from home to a Dhaka buyer who refuses it spends days on the road both ways before you can sell it again.
Selling from where a product is made or landed lets you know it well, buy it well and tell its story. Some examples:
Sell what you can source well and describe honestly: where it comes from, who made it, what it is.
Most of your stock stays at home, where you buy it and already have space. Send a carton of the two or three products Dhaka buyers order most to a place in Dhaka:
Dhaka orders then leave from Dhaka, and orders for the rest of the country leave from home. Weigh what the Dhaka place costs you (rent, a partner's share, a 3PL's fees) against what you save on each Dhaka order.
In PrimeCommerce your home godown and your Dhaka place are two stock locations, with stock per size at each. The Free plan includes 2 stock locations. Moving stock between locations with a transfer (send, then receive, with any short arrival recorded) is part of Grow and up. On Grow and up, whoever keeps your Dhaka stock can have a packer login: they receive, count, handle returns and dispatch, and never see your costs.
PrimeHat plans a Dhaka Hub where sellers from outside Dhaka can keep stock for Dhaka orders. It is not open yet, and its fees and opening date are not decided. Join the Dhaka Hub waitlist to hear when it opens. Other things we are building are on the changelog.
Choose products where your district has a real cost or quality advantage. Fifty generic gadgets that every Dhaka shop already sells won't set you apart.
Apply with your National ID (NID); a trade licence is optional at the start. Once approved, orders from PrimeHat buyers land in your PrimeCommerce order desk.
From the order you book the parcel, print its label and follow its status. The buyer sees the status on Track Order.
Pick the place, agree how the person there hears about each Dhaka order and how you settle up with them, and send the first carton. See "Keep a Dhaka location" above.
Confirm each cash-on-delivery order by reply, call or code before it leaves; in PrimeCommerce you can require confirmation before any order is dispatched. On bigger orders, ask for an advance by bKash or Nagad and record it on the order with its transaction id.
If your courier's merchant panel or your own records show a phone number's parcels delivered less than about 70 % of the time, call before you ship or ask for an advance. More on this in How to reduce returns.
Ask for the district, thana, area, a landmark and a second phone number, so the rider finds the buyer without a second trip.
With your own courier account, the courier pays you the cash it collects. Import its statement in PrimeCommerce: each parcel shows as delivered, collected and settled, and the Earnings page shows what each courier still owes you. PrimeHat's payouts are made twice a week. See Payouts.
Yes. Any shop in Bangladesh with real products in stock can apply. You send orders from your own shop or godown, on your own courier account or with PrimeHat if you have no courier account.
Not yet. A PrimeHat Dhaka Hub is planned; its fees and opening date are not decided. Join the waitlist. Until then, keep a Dhaka location of your own or a partner's and run it as a second location in PrimeCommerce.
The courier brings it back to where it was picked up. Check your courier's return charge: some charge for returns, and Steadfast's terms (checked 22 October 2026) say it does not. Either way you lose the outward delivery, the packaging and the days off sale. In PrimeCommerce the returned parcel is checked on arrival before it goes back on sale.
Use a courier that picks up in your area. Settings → Couriers in PrimeCommerce lists the couriers you can connect; once connected, you book parcels, print labels and follow every parcel from the order. With no courier account, ship with PrimeHat (Shipping).
No. A trade licence from your own Union Parishad, Pourashava or City Corporation is the one that applies to your business. To apply on PrimeHat you start with your National ID (NID); a trade licence is optional at the start.
With your own courier account, the courier pays you the cash it collects, and you match its statement to your parcels in PrimeCommerce. PrimeHat's payouts are made twice a week. Every sale, payout and adjustment shows on your Earnings page. See Payouts.
You don't need to move to Dhaka to sell across the country. Keep your shop where you already work, and keep a little stock where your Dhaka buyers are.
